Hard and Soft Services: Key IFM Services

Integrated facility management (IFM) ensures the maintenance of all facilities and the well-being of employees at their workplace through multiple services. IFM services include account management, project management, hard and soft services, event support etc. In this article, we would like to focus on hard and soft services.

1. Hard Services

Hard services are technical services that are directly related to the building itself. Some examples of hard services include MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineering, preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance, energy response, life cycle management, energy management etc. Those services are crucial for the safety of employees, the maintenance of the facility and the life cycle management of assets.

2. Soft Services

On the other hand, soft services are services that directly influence the well-being of the employees and the pleasantness of the workplace. Soft services include cleaning, catering, waste management, transportation, mail services, security, reception etc. Those daily services, directly used by employees, enhance the working environment.
