Interviewer

Good morning Jack and thank you for your time. You are one of the pioneers of GBFMS now Hyundai GBFMS, how would you describe your journey with us so far?

Jack Rrapo

Being part of this fantastic team has been a privilege for me. And if we consider the current pandemic situation, it has made me realize even more the importance of IFM.

The level of cooperation, teamwork, adaption to rapid changes and so on amongst every single stakeholder involved have been absolutely mind blowing. It has made me cement even further my strong belief on “Human Being” first and foremost approach. And it has made me connected even stronger with everyone including our colleagues.

Interviewer

As Head of Global Accounts, how do you see the correlation between talent, environment, and business development?

Jack Rrapo

That is an interesting point. I believe we are all born with a talent to communicate with each other. Therefore, the question is how to take this talent and develop it a bit further for the common goal of all the stakeholders involved.

And here the environment plays a critical role. At Hyundai GBFMS, we have an open-minded culture, a global mindset, bottom to top approach and so on. This allows everyone to flourish in their respective roles.

By creating this environment, we can adopt better ways to identify new markets, prepare and negotiate new opportunities, handle sudden changes, better operational and solutioning handling, and so on.

All these factors like professionalism, communication, teamwork, data analysis and so on are all decisive and bring that much needed contribution in terms of strategic advantage, positive working environment, can-do mindset.

As part of your Global Accounts responsibility, you are also in charge of Compliance.

What significance Compliance and ESG have in today’s world and especially in the Facility Management Industry?

Jack Rrapo

We do all agree that Compliance and ESG are very critical to success for any business environment. Especially in today’s world, ESG issues are a global matter where every actor of the global society has a role to play.

As IFM service provider, what better way to contribute than by integrating this ESG element into a broader global picture of Compliance & Risk strategy.

Therefore, we need to find more efficient ways to fit elements like environmental, social, and governance into the overall strategic direction of an enterprise.

After all, we face the same challenges of climate change, resources usage, sustainability, EHS, human rights, labor rights, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, environmental laws, and regulations, and so on.

I truly believe that due to the nature of the environment we are currently operating, Compliance and ESG are two major aspects which need to be better understood by all stakeholders involved.

Interviewer

To conclude, are there any tips you would like to share with colleagues out there?

Jack Rrapo

For me, there are no tips or suggestions for better results. We are all different so there is no one fit for all answers.

But what I would like to say is that if you decide to do something, just go for it.
